The Sound Blaster music card has finally broken the barrier between
IBM and those other guys. I must tell you that I am not putting the Apple
or Amiga down at all, every computer has its place. I personally own
several IBM compatibles and an Apple 512. I used the Apple for recording
music and sound effects to splice into a Camcorder along with the IBM for
graphics on titles and subtitles. After using the Sound Blaster, well lets
say I now have an Apple computer for sale.
The Wurlitzer Jukebox Player program was written so I could select and
play several songs, sounds, or a combination of both, one right after the
other. If you have the same problem I do, that is keeping track of what
sound the file is, then The Wurliter Jukebox Player is for you. It allows
you to enter a meaningful description for each file name and more. You can
play one song at a time or tag and play several.
I wrote the Wurlitzer Jukebox Player to be very user friendly. The
documentation is limited for this reason. When you are in the song
listing section of the program you can press the [H] key to display two
help windows.
** DEMO **
This is not a DEMO. I have found that when I down-load a program and find
out that it is only a DEMO copy it realy burns me up. I decided to put the
COMPLETE version out for everyone to use, so enjoy and please let know how
you like it.
** REGISTRATION **
A lot of time and effort went in to writting Wurlitzer Jukebox Player.
If you find it useful then by all means please register by send in a
$15.00 donation. This will continue the concept of Public Domain
software. Feel free to give a copy of this software to your friends.
Some of the future plans I have for the Wurlitzer Program are to play
CMF, ROL, and VOC files without the use of VPLAY, PLAYCMF, or any other
player programs.
** BEFORE YOU START **
You need to let the program know where on your hard drive you store your
VOC files and CMF files. In your autoexec.bat file use the SET command
to set the environment variable "VOC" and "CMF".
Example: If you store your "filename.VOC" and "filename.CMF"
files in a directory called "c:\sounds", this is what
the SET commands would look like:
SET VOC=C:\SOUNDS\
SET CMF=C:\SOUNDS\
Note: The last "\" after the directory sounds is a must.
Whatever, directory you use be sure to place "\"
after it in the set command.
You need to also place the VPLAY.EXE and PLAYCMF.EXE files in the same
directory of the Wurlitzer Jukebox Player. Both of these files came to
you on your Sound Blaster disks. I will supply you will the vplay.exe
and playcmf.exe files to you. However, be aware that you might have
newer versions on your disk.
I would very much appreciate any feed back about this program from you.
Please fill in any comments on the registration form and mail it back to
me even if you don't register the program.
In my opinon public domain software is the best way to obtain good
software packages. Lets face it, if we could afford to market our
software on the open market, I wonder where we would be now.

I would also be interested in knowing your computer hardware configuration
for the sole purpose of tracking what type equipment the program is
running on without any problems.
